Discourse with Scott Lively

Recently, I viewed the Rachel Maddow Show and saw what Scott Lively of Defend The Family was doing in Uganda. I was not only appalled but saddened by the myopia of this individual. Following is the discourse between Mr. Lively and myself...(Mr. Lively is in Red and Mr. Banks is in Purple)

You, not I, am deviating from the clear teaching of Scripture. And if you think Paul's writings are not God's Holy Word you are no friend of Jesus.

In seminary school I had to learn the original Koine Greek and translate the teachings of Paul? Did you sir? Or are you just listening to the thousands of misinformed preachers that damn homosexuals based on the personal agenda of Paul. I suggest you wake up becuase your actions in Africa are causing people to be hurt. Did Christ do that, wise man? I don't think so. Take your law degree and your conservative agenda that is causing derision amongst people and plant it somewhere where the sun doesn't shine. Obviously sir, you make a practice of sitting on your shoulders. Come out and see the light of day, oh hypocrite. I have followed the true words of Jesus all of my life; a message of love and not hate like you are preaching. Examine your agenda and seek the truth! If not, the death of those you discriminate against is on your head. Take that to heart.

I'll pass. It is already established that you do not understand the truth.

Are you talking about the same Jesus who make a whip with His own hands and drove the moneychangers from the temple, or called the scribes a "nest of vipers?" Or who spent His entire ministry affirming the works of His Father, including war, capital punishment, and other things you "nicer than Jesus" ignoramuses abhor? Or the Jesus who, in the red letters, told you to pluck out your offending eye. The Jesus who had more to say on the reality of hell and its purpose to punish His enemies than any other

Biblical figure?

You have carved out an entirely false, self-absorbed, humanistically short-sighted morality that condemns the the very God who created both you and morality. God IS the God of love, but love in His terms is not what you want it to be. You are not expounding Christianity but merely Christian-flavored secular humanism. To do it you must reject not only the majority of the Biblical record, but also the majority of Jesus' own words.

In His words, Repent!

Your interpretation of the truth is inciting hatred and discrimination. How can you sleep at night when your actions are hurting others? Christ would handle you just as he did the Pharisees. Time to get treatment for your RDD (Reality Deficit Disorder). BTW, more will come to reveal your conservative lying agenda my friend. Remember, you will have to atone for your behavior someday.

May God bless you and awaken you to your errant ways.

Again, in your limited scope you quote the same verbage that all of the infant Christians quote to substantiate their childish view of Jesus. Grow up little man! Did Jesus finish the job on the Roman soldier that lost his ear at the hand of Peter? What did he do Mr. Unobservant? He picked it up and put it back; healing him! Are you healing those in Uganda? Or are you just press hounding to glorify your own image. Viper! That's what you are small man. You are the offending eye and should be plucked out because you mock what Jesus said and what he DID! You are the ignoramus buddy. Pluck out the beam from your own eye and see the truth. Myopia can be cured!

If anyone is self-absorbed it is you. When did Christ tell you to enter Uganda and impose your Christian viewpoint and values on anyone? Oh, that's right, you heard it in your mentally unstable mind and needed to prove your own self-worth in order to feel vaidated. The only problem is is that what you are doing is interfering to such a degree that your simpleton viewpoint is going to cause pain and suffering for people you know NOTHING about.

Where did Christ tell you to be a gay basher? I live and support the values of Chrisitanity and there is nowhere in the Bible that it says for you to get up everyday and bash gays. Show me where, ye of little faith! People like you are a stain on the truth. In your zeal to promote yourself you are blinded by the enemy with self-righteous indignation. Wake up before the deaths of HUMAN BEINGS are on your head. That's reality, my friend.

God's message is clear and I stand with Him. The "hurt" you and your philosophical bedfellows are experiencing is the natural consequence of your sin, as the lot of you "receive in [your]selves the penalty of [your] error which is due."

Reality doesn't change because you want it to.

Indeed we will all stand before the Lord upon that day. And all the sincerity you can muster to justify rewriting His word to suit yourself will not change your sentence.

I am a sinner saved by grace, trusting in the Lord's mercy to cover me when I stand before that throne. His word promises that whatever errors I have made are already paid by the blood of Christ. But God help that person who has spent his life denying that sin is sin -- because it reflects the false belief that you can earn your way into heaven by being "good enough" That way always leads you to rationalize away your culpability under His law so that you can feel justified in your own acts instead of accepting the truth that you can only get in by the grace and mercy of God.

I pray for you.

Pray for yourself. God's message is clear and you stand for yourself and NOT Him. Your subscription to sola fide and sola scriptura indicates your infancy in the Word. You doctrine of SIN and its repercussions are the platform by which you spew your judgment. Reality is, my friend, whether you interfere with it or not. You are the reason people will be persecuted and perhaps die. Can you carry that on your conscience? Your misinterpretation of God's Word is the source of YOUR "SIN." Examine the facts before you spew your opinion on others. Only then can you know the truth of the message of Christ. Love one another. Judge not, lest you be judged. I dispute sola fide and sola scriptura because there is NO scriptural backup of either. Yet, in your blindness you continue to spew your platitudes and judgments on those who have done NOTHING to you and YOUR family. Yet you interfere in the lives of others with your "understandings" and "dispensations."

Whoa to the vipers, for they know not what they do. I am not a homosexual. I have 6 children and 6 grandchildren and I love my family and the values we have. I have taught all of my kids to NOT judge others. I have taught them to love one another and embrace the truth of Christ. What values have you taught your children? To compartmentalize and judge those in Uganda? They will learn of your treachery someday and will deny even knowing you just as Peter denied Christ for fear of his own death. Please, direct your prayers toward your own enlightenment of the knowledge and wisdom of the Word of Christ. Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, and all else will added unto you.

Dean

Jesus drew the line in the sand. Do you know what that meant? Did you take the time in seminary school to study the geographic idioms, language nuances and latin translations to understand the adulteress? As for Matthew 7:6, "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Pay attention to this verse. Thou art the swine, my friend. The pearls of wisdom from Christ are lost on you. Your manipulations and decptions were revealed on The Rachel Maddow Show. Why? Because God is trying to tell you something. He's trying to tell you that it is NOT your business to interfere in the lives of those who are DIFFERENT from you. You are the worst kind of Christian because your self-righteous indignation is your platform of blasphemy. Revel in your morass of self-delusion; it will be your undoing.

Dean

BTW, you will be the new star in a new blog about those who impose their will on others; http://wordoflively.blogspot.com/ . Continue your discrimination and agenda setting and watchdogs will have a forum to dispute your erroneous claims.

Conversing with you I'm getting a new appreciation of Matt 7:6.

This will be my final reply.
